Special House Election NY 26th District - Can Democrats Pull the Upset?

Two Polls Now Show the Democrat in the Lead

The Special Election for a House seat in a predominately Republican district in western New York state now has the Democrat ahead of the Republican and a third party candidate.

and expected the support for the third party candidate to drop (it had been as high as 25%) but the surprise is the lack of support for the Republican candidate.  Since the third party candidate ran previous races as a Democrat, one cannot assume that his absence from the race would have delivered his votes to the Republican.  And if the Democrat wins by 6 points or more, it is a safe conclusion that she would have won outright in a two person race.

Wednesday morning we will have the winner, the Monday Morning Quarterbacking and the analysis.
