You Can’t Fool All of the People All of the Time – Congressional Approval at 10%

The 10% Who Approve – Martians

A lot of political pundits claim that most Americans do not pay all that much attention to government and politics, but the recent poll by Gallup on the job of Congress shows that not only do Americans pay attention, they understand exactly what is going on here.

PRINCETON, NJ -- Ten percent of Americans in August approve of the job Congress is doing, tying last February's reading as the lowest in Gallup's 38-year history of this measure. Eighty-three percent disapprove of the way Congress is doing its job.

And here is the recent trend.

Approve of Congress -- January 2011-August 2012

So all that is left to wonder is whether or not 10% of the American is brain dead or living on another planet.  And yes, notice the trend since January of 2011 when Republicans took control of the House and effective control of the Senate.  Is there a lesson here?
