Republican VP Nominee Says American People Are Too Stupid to Understand The Specifics of the Romney Tax Plans

That’s Why They Won’t Release Details

And Does Anyone Else Notice How Much Greater Press Exposure Mr. Ryan is Getting Than Mr. Biden?

One of the reasons the Romney ticket is losing in the polls is its refusal to release any details on his fiscal plans.  This means no specifics on what government programs will be cut, or by how much.  And it means no specifics on how the tax code will change to generate enough revenues to offset a 20% across the board cut in tax rates.

The reason why the Romney people will not release specifics on taxes is pretty straight forward.  The numbers do not add up, and the provisions they want to eliminate are popular with the American people.  But the second half of the ticket, VP nominee Paul Ryan has come up with a new reason why they won’t release details.

Ryan said he and Romney want a 20 percent cut in all income tax rates, which would be paid by closing loopholes and deductions.

Ryan said Romney has been specific, but declined to say which loopholes, saying, "it would take me too long to go through all of the math."

When people say that, what they are really saying is that the audience, in this case the American voter, is just not smart enough to understand the policy.  Actually, the real problem Mr. Ryan as you know only too well, the American voter is more than smart enough to understand the details.
