Believe It Or Don’t – NRA Accused of Being Too Soft on Guns

Yes, That’s Sen. Rand Paul Doing the Accusing

Sen. Rand Paul - Is It Just Us or Does It Look Like He is Speaking From Hell?

Assuming that this is not an April Fool’s story, it appears the gun nuts are even nuttier than anyone ever supposed.  Politico, which usually doesn’t publish silly made up stuff has this story, which we assume is not silly made up stuff.

Sen. Rand Paul, the tea party favorite and possible 2016 presidential candidate, is raising money for a conservative gun-rights group that’s targeting fellow Republicans, including House Majority Leader Eric Cantor.

And when one congressman complained, the message from Paul’s camp was: Too bad.

The Kentucky Republican has lent his name to fundraising pitches for the National Association for Gun Rights, a group that says the National Rifle Association is too willing to compromise on gun rights.

Now this is a story that delights on several levels.  For example, there is the Republican Party getting a taste of its own creature, Rand Paul.  For more of a delight is the news that there is an organization, apparently quite active, that thinks the NRA is too willing to compromise.

Really, how in any place except an alternate universe is that possible?
