House Speaker Republican John Boehner Says There are Not Enough Votes to Pass a Clean Continuing Resolution to Fund the Government

The Rest of Us Say – John, Put Up or Shut Up

John of course will do neither

The House of Representatives is unwilling to vote on whether or not to pass what is called a clean Continuing Resolution, a law that funds the government with no extraneous conditions.  The President and the press have argued that the votes are there.  Mr. Boehner, the Republican Speaker says no.

Maybe, but we would damn sure have the extended warranty

House Speaker John Boehner says there wouldn't be enough votes to pass a "clean" continuing resolution in his chamber, though various counts have put the number of Republicans who'd be willing to join with Democrats at more than 20.
"There are not the votes in the House to pass a clean CR," the Ohio Republican said Sunday on ABC's "This Week."

Okay, John, remember what your hero Ronald Reagan used to say, “trust but verify”.  If this is really the situation let’s put it to a vote, let’s see what you got, show your hand, back up your words.  Voting is the American way.  So if you got ‘em, show ‘em.  If not, admit it and move on.
